For almost 200 years, Peirce Mill has been grinding grain using the power of water from Rock Creek. As Washington’s last working gristmill, the site offers unique opportunities to interpret the agricultural history of the nation's capital. Join other Smithsonian Associates donors and learn about the work the National Park Service and the Friends of Peirce Mill are doing to tell these important D.C. stories, and to research the lives of people once enslaved by the Peirce family. You will also get to see the mill’s machinery in action, and get a behind-the-scenes tour of all four floors of this 19th century-mechanical marvel.
