Materials for this program

Neutral-density filters can be used to achieve very slow shutter-speed photos in bright sunshine. In the first session, appropriate camera controls and filter techniques are covered in the classroom, and then students head outside to apply what they’ve learned. After sunset, streaking light trails (from headlights and taillights, for example) can be photographed using standard night photography techniques.

The class meets in the field after the first session. Please bring your camera, neutral-density filters (filter set or one variable filter), and tripod to class.
